7 Amazing Ways To Let Your Girlfriend or Wife See the Loving, Caring, Best You!

If your aim is to impress a woman, as opposed to expressing your true feelings, then you may as well stop reading right now. If all you want to do is get on her good side, then you've already made a mistake.

But if you want to understand your significant other's wants and needs better in order to show her how much you love and care for her, there are seven easy ways you can accomplish this!

1) Thought really does count!

You've probably heard people say "it's the thought that counts," that you find it hard to take the cliché seriously.

But the truth is, it does indeed matter. A greeting card and a bouquet of flowers have their charms, but wouldn't it mean more if you put some sincere effort into picking out a gift for your wife or girlfriend?

It isn't that hard to find something that will make her feel really special - ask yourself, what are her interests? What is something, no matter how small, that would let her know that you've been paying attention to her needs, wants and problems?

The amount of money you put into a gift isn't as important as the amount of thought you put into it. Almost all women appreciate a personal gesture of love much more than the typical gift of flowers, cards, chocolates, or jewelry.

If your companion loves to jog and has been complaining about foot pain, buy her a pair of comfortable shoes, or give her a foot massage.

This may not seem like a romantic gift, but it shows her that you pay attention to her problems and that you care about her - and all women want to feel like the man in their life cares enough to remember what she's said!

2) Participate in her hobbies and interests

You'd probably love it if she was interested in your favorite sports team or was willing to watch the same kinds of movies that you like, so why not do the same for her?

Whatever her interests may be, make the effort to share the experience with her.

This doesn't mean you have to be crazy about attending the ballet, shopping for antiques or going on five-mile hike - just the fact that you're happy to spend time with her while she does something that she loves means a lot.

Take her to her favorite restaurant, spend an afternoon browsing the bookstore or go out to see her favorite band. All of this communicates that you want to learn more about her, and this shows how much you care for her, even if your own interests lie in a different direction.

3) Be spontaneous

How many times have you heard a woman say that she likes a man who's "spontaneous," without really understanding what that means? Spontaneous means that, if you love her, you shouldn't need a special occasion to express your feelings.

Women have a deep need to feel loved, and sometimes that means they need a little reminder that you care. You don't have to be ostentatious about it - a note placed in her briefcase for work (or purse, or textbook for class) saying how much you love her can make her day. A phone call out of the blue, just to say you were thinking of her, will show how much you care.

Small things like this, much more than the flowers and jewelry you buy for birthdays or Valentine's Day, will help to nurture your relationship for years to come. You might be surprised at how much a surprise romantic dinner can spice up a stale relationship!

Planned outing together are nice, but sometimes the unexpected is much more enjoyable.

4) Help out around the house

Studies consistently show that even women who work full time outside the home usually do the majority of the housework.

A great way to show your wife or girlfriend that you care about her is to help out with some of those boring chores. The occasional gift is nice, of course, but actual time and effort on your part can be even better.

Do some laundry, clean the bathroom or pick up the dry cleaning for a change - and don't say a word about it. She'll notice!

5) The healing touch

Romantic poetry may seem cheesy, but studies have actually proven that couples who write to each other using romantic language tend to have longer-lasting relationships than those who don't.

Get over your embarrassment and express your feelings on paper - they'll seem more thoughtful and permanent if you do. Send an email or, better yet, hand-write a letter expressing your feelings.

She'll love it and that one little note may greatly improve your love life! Sincerity is key - write from the heart, and hers will melt.

7) Don't overdo it

You might feel compelled to pull out all the stops when you're in love. But sometimes the grandest gesture can seem insincere, more about you impressing her with your generosity than expressing your real feelings.

Show her you care, don't show her you can buy expensive jewelry - don't be tacky. If your love is real, there's no reason to go over the top. Just being should be enough!
