Control Acne Naturally - Be In Control!

By: Anthony Stai..

Are you being overrun with pimples and zits? Hopefully not, but if you are then lets look at some alternatives to expensive medications and treatments.

Let's start with "what is acne?" Acne is a skin disorder that is primarily caused by your hormones acting in conjunction with the skin's oil glands called the sebaceous glands. The oils excreted from the sebaceous glands may lead to congesting you skin pores. At this point your acne is forming. Acne can breakout on your face, neck, chest, back and shoulders, and occasionally even on your scalp because this is where the glands are most profuse. Without proper treatment and occasionally counseling, severe acne can lead to other psychological disorders such as depression.

Some of the factors that can contribute to acne outbreaks are genetics and hygiene. Of course, we can't do anything about our genetics except thank our parents. But we can do something about the other factors following the simple steps listed here.

1. Fruits and Veggies - By getting the recommended daily allowance of your fruits and vegetables, you will be surprised at the impact it will have on your acne outbreaks.

2. Try cleaning your face with Rose Water twice a day to keep your face clear of oils and feeling refreshed.

3. Don't Wait - Waiting for a pimple to form is like admitting defeat. Take control and do something about before it is a full fledged zit. Try patting some ice on the swollen location to reduce the swelling and release the poisons in the pores.

4. Multivitamins - Make controlling acne easier by taking multivitamins to help maintain a healthy chemical balance in your body. Start with a multivitamin that contains a zinc supplement. Zinc will help make you skin stronger and more resistant to acne.

5. Try a cucumber mask by combining a cucumber and water in a blender to make a cucumber paste. Apply the paste to your face for about half an hour and then rinse off. This is a cheap cleanser and will leave your skin feeling very refreshed.

6. Avoid harsh soaps and cleansers. While it is tempting to use soaps that will dry out those pimples, you really want to use a soap that is much milder and leave your skin moist. Avoid using petroleum based and animal based soaps because they will irritate your skin.

7. Cleansers - Avoid using cleansers that contain alcohol because it will tend to dry out your skin. Alcohol free cleansers will be much gentler to your face and body.

8. Find makeup that doesn't contain petroleum product for the same reason as above for soaps. Petroleum will dry out your skin and you definitely don't want your skin to be dry and flaky.

9. Drink lots of water. I know, everybody always says drink lots of water. But, don't you think if everybody is saying that then there must be at least a little truth to it. Well, there is! Do it and you will feel better and your skin will feel better.

Take this list and really apply it. Remember that not all illnesses need to be cured with harsh medicines and chemicals. Always start with the simplest solutions first before having to resort to the more expensive and invasive treatments. Plus, your body will thank you because it will feel better!
