Ford Harley Davidson F150 - More Than Just A Truck

By: A R Thompson

The Ford F150 truck has now been in production for well over 30 years now and initially when it appeared on the scene it was more commonly referred to as the "heavy half ton" by the company. Simply because the F100 was also still in production at this time. Yet it took another 24 years before Ford finally came out with a new version and which they worked on in conjunction with another iconic vehicle company, namely Harley Davidson Motorcycles. So in 1999 the Ford Harley Davidson F150 was born.

Since it being first introduced the Ford Motor Company have now brought out several different models of this great looking vehicle. But everything that they have done on this model since it first appeared is that it resonates the heritage of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company. Below we take a look at the two latest versions of this truck, which are certainly going to be winners with both Ford and Harley Davidson enthusiasts alike.

1. 2006 Ford Harley Davidson F150 Supercab This particular version comes in black with lots of chrome all other the place as well as having distinctive Harley Davidson visual markers on it. But along with the black monotone exterior as with custom motorcycles a custom scalloped red stripe, which has been outlined using electric blue paint, runs along the complete length of the vehicles belt line then at intervals the Harley Davidson script has been included.

With all their F150 models that have been built in collaboration with Harley Davidson, Ford have included a chrome billet grille and headlamps and taillights which have been blacked out. They also all come with 22 inch forged aluminum rimmed wheels which have been polished. Which provides a look which may seem quite menacing to some.

2. The 2007 Ford Harley Davidson F150 Supercrew - Unlike the 2006 Supercab this particular model of F150 trucks exterior is not only available in monotone black but also in a rich amethyst color as well. Which is only one of the major differences between these two models. They both come with the 22 inch forged aluminum wheels which have been polished and a chrome grille. This vehicle also comes with both its headlights and taillights blacked out as you will soon discover all models of the Ford Harley Davidson F150 do.

But the biggest difference you will find on this latest version of this vehicle is what is hidden under the hood. You now have the choice to go with an engine that has a super charger fitted to it and which would often normally be found on the Ford Shelby GT500. Adding this to the Harley Davidson enclosed with the engine space provides the vehicle with 450 break horsepower.

Along with a number of refinements to the exterior of the vehicle, Ford have made some changes to the interior of the F150 cab as well. It provides the people encased within with the feeling that they are out on the open road riding along on a Harley Davidson.

The captains chairs within the Ford Harley Davidson F150 are completely unique as the leather used has had the Harley Davidson logo embedded into them. Plus through the addition of lots of chrome accessories within the cab have further added to the feel of it being a completely customized vehicle just like the motorcycles it has been named after.
