Whitewater rafting is an extreme activity which involves a team of people attempting to navigate a raft through some of the most dangerous waters around the world. Whilst Alaska can be an extremely beautiful place, it can also be an extremely dangerous one too. So hiring a guide is definitely advisable if you can afford it.

If you are not an advanced whitewater rafter then you will be pleased to know that the Alaska Glacier is not overly dangerous. Of course with any whitewater rafting experience it can be potentially dangerous but Alaska provides fewer obstacles than some places across the world. This means that you get to have a challenging experience, but it is also really fun too.

Your guide will tell you everything you need to know about the safety precautions you need to take. Obviously you should have some experience in whitewater rafting but if you don't then you should have someone with you who does. If not things could get particularly nasty and it can be extremely dangerous.
