Pregnancy's Link to Female Hair Loss

If you are expecting a baby, it is common to expect changes to your body, including changes to your hair. Some women find they will now have beautiful thick hair, but most women will find the change more drastic and less appealing. Many women will begin finding more hair in the drain, on their pillow and in their brush. A good way to keep your hair healthy during and post pregnancy is to talk with your doctor to ensure a proper balance of hormones. Also avoid pigtails, ponytails, cornrows, hair weaves, braids and tight rollers. These can cause unneeded stress on the hair follicles and can lead to hair loss. Eating a proper diet of fruits and vegetables will help protect the hair follicle and will encourage hair growth. The proper shampoos and conditioners can also help.
